Your automatic profit & loss.
The P&L (Profit & Loss) gives you a complete view of your freelance finances. Income vs expenses, net result, category breakdown and monthly evolution. All on one page.
Two sources of income
P&L income comes from two sources: invoices (paid, sent, overdue) and ‘other income’ (bank interest, refunds, cashback, grants). Invoices are created in the Invoices tab. Other income is registered manually or from the statement importer.
Expenses with categories
Register expenses with category (Software, Office, Marketing, etc.), currency, date and optional recurrence. Categories are customisable in Settings. The bar chart shows monthly evolution and category breakdown.
Receipt photo or invoice PDF
For one-off expenses without going through the bank statement, you have two routes depending on the device:
- Mobile. When creating an expense, upload a photo of the receipt or invoice (jpg, png, webp). If you enable OCR in Settings → Personalisation, we analyse it in the background with a vision model and pre-fill amount, date, provider and suggested category. You review and confirm before saving — you can always edit.
- Desktop. Attach the PDF of the received invoice to the expense. The PDF stays linked to the expense as proof for your records or your accountant. It is not processed with OCR (only stored alongside the expense).
The OCR runs in a server-side edge function: the image leaves your browser only when you upload the file. If the model can’t parse the receipt (torn, blurry, handwritten), the modal stays empty and you fill the fields manually — it doesn’t break the flow.
Export to PDF & Excel
Two buttons in the P&L header let you generate a PDF report (opens in new tab for printing) or an Excel file (CSV formatted for Excel). Both include summary, invoices, other income, expenses and categories.
Deductible VAT & tax position
Each expense can include a deductible VAT percentage. When specified, Temprofit automatically calculates how much VAT is deductible from your expenses and offsets it against VAT collected from your invoices. The result is your tax position: positive means you owe; negative means a refund.
Recurring expenses
Expenses marked as recurring (monthly, quarterly, yearly) are auto-generated at the start of each period. No need to remember to log hosting or your Figma subscription every month — Temprofit does it for you.
